Q: How do I reserve my wedding date?
A: To secure your date, a signed event agreement and a 50% venue deposit is required with your balance due no later than 90 days prior to your event.
Q: What is your cancellation policy? Do you give refunds?
A: If you must cancel your event, unfortunately none of your payment is refundable. In some situations if we are able to rebook your date, a partial refund might be approved by management. All cancellations must be done in writing. On all cancellations, regardless of the reason, there is a cancellation fee.
Q: Am I responsible for any of the cleaning?
A: You are responsible for removing all items brought in by you, your vendors, or your guests. All of the tables should be cleared, leaving only the linens and centerpieces that we have provided. Serving areas should be free of food and beverages and wiped clean. All trash bags should be gathered and placed at the exit door. Our staff will take it from there.
Q: I really don’t want to worry about cleaning on my wedding day. What other options do I have?
A: We are happy to take this off your hands! You simply need to remove all items you, your vendors, or guests brought in, For a fee of $250, we will do the rest!
Q: How many hours does the rental fee reserve the space? Are there any charges for overtime?
A: The Oaks package includes use of the facility for 14 hours.
The Party Barn includes use of the facility for 9 hours.
The Pecan Orchard includes use of the facility for 2 hours.
The Lodge Meeting Room includes use of the facility for 9 hours.
Overtime is $150.00 per hour.
Q: What overnight accommodations do you provide? Are there any discounts for booking additional rooms for guests?
A: The Oaks package includes a one-night stay in either our Magnolia Suite or Yellow Rose of Texas Suite on the night of your wedding.
All of our rooms will be offered at a 10% discount to you, your bridal party and your guests.
Q: If we rent a room what time is check-in & checkout?
A: Normal check-in is at 3:00 PM and checkout it at 11:00 AM
Early check-in is at 1:00 PM and based on availability please confirm with staff prior.
Q: When is my rehearsal?
A: Any time Sunday through Thursday, by appointment only.
Q: Is there a space for the bride/groom to get ready at your facility?
A: The oaks package comes with the use of our brides dressing suite and grooms dressing suite.
Q: Can I bring in my own alcohol?
A: Yes, we are a BYOB facility but all alcohol must be served by one of our TABC certified bartenders.
Q: Can we drink alcohol while we are getting ready for the wedding?
A: Yes, alcohol is permitted in side your room or in the oaks dressing suits.
Q: Are outside vendors allowed and is there an additional fee?
A: You are welcome to bring in your choice of vendors we do have a list of preferred vendors available upon request, but you are not limited to those vendors.
Outside catering does require $3 per person fee.
Q: Do you have an insurance requirement? Do you provide insurance?
A: We require insurance for outside catering. This includes if your are having family/friends cater. Outside Caterer must maintain General Liability Insurance in an amount not less than $1,000,000.00 combined single limit for bodily injury and property damage. Such insurance shall name MD Wise County Resort inc., MD Resort and William and Susie Benedick as additional insured, and the certificate of insurance with the endorsement must be provided twenty-one (21) days prior to the event. If CLIENT(S) chooses not to use a caterer, CLIENT(S) is then responsible for acquiring a Day of Event Policy in an amount not less than $1,000,000.00 as described above. This Policy must be provided twenty-one (21) days prior to the event. A Homeowner’s Policy in the name of the person preparing the food is also acceptable
Q: Are candles or other open flames allowed?
A: Candles are allowed in The Oaks ceremony & reception hall only and they must be in a protective glass, such as a votive. Open flames are strictly prohibited. No Candles are allowed at any other site on property
Q: Do you allow smoking?
A: There is a strict no smoking policy inside our venues including the Party Barn.
There is, however, a designated smoking area outside the venue.
