Heap high the board with plenteous cheer and gather to the feast, And toast the sturdy Pilgrim band whose courage never ceased.

Favorite Thanksgiving quote

by Alice W. Brotherton

It is old fashioned in word and in spirit, but the message within the quote is forever true, and makes a great toast! To be cheerful, happy in what you have, and to gather together in feast, such as Thanksgiving dinner. Family, friends, and neighbors, breaking bread in honor of the year that has been, and to begin the year that is quickly approaching, to honor all that are and have been, and to cherish the friendships and relationships that you have. Last but not least, to truly mark the beginning of the holiday season.

This year there is so much to be thankful for. Besides my friends and family, work and the people from all walks of life I am blessed to meet because of my job here at MD Resort, there is a roof over my head, and a trusty dog that does her best to be my protector without insight as to the fact that she is about a foot and a half tall and weighs next to nothing. These are just a few of the things that I am thankful and grateful to have in my life!

Now I issue a challenge to you. Take a moment and make a list of what you are grateful for, the people and the things that you have, both large and small. It can be as simple as walking into a home filled with the scents of holiday baking, or as miraculous as the little child you hold in your arms. It is all important, and worth a moment to be cherished and hopefully remembered for years to come.

As you are rushing around getting everything ready for your Thanksgiving gathering this year, remember to find little moments for yourself. It is a moment you may be thankful down the road, and you never know what may come out of it. The people you may be able to show a little kindness to, and the strangers that may just show you some kindness as well.

Thank you to all our friends and family, brides and grooms that have shared some of the most memorable and special moments of their lives with us here at MD Resort. We are thankful for your presence in our lives, and want you to know that our doors are always open to you!!
